VERSE

My poems have been published (in English and in translation) in Exile, The Free Agent, The Highwaymen Journal, and The Plaza, among other places.

My strongest poetic influences include Jane Kenyon, Mark Strand, Adrienne Rich, Alan Ginsberg, Wallace Stevens, Basho, and Rumi.

Street poetry is part of my process overall, not just for the cash money to spend on pulp fiction, but because the real-time connection with the reader/listener/patron is priceless; and it can be hard to come by in a literary world that often dallies in ivory towers on remote screens.

Lately I have been composing more rambunctious poems, and verse that is meant to be read by multiple voices; sometimes in turn, other times simultaneously. Also: wandering back to haiku.
